Packing list format, free in Excel and Word
A packing list format that knows its boxes: contents per box, quantities, checked-by — free in Excel and Word, so three-of-five is answerable at the door.
The files, first
Free, no forms: a packing list format with a filled sample — a realistic multi-box dispatch — and a clean blank.
The packing slip format question is the same question; the files answer both names.
What a packing list format must contain
The format's whole trick is that it is organised by box, not by item. In order:
Order and challan references — the list must know which promise it belongs to
Box number — every carton gets one, written on the box and on the list
Contents per box — item, description, quantity — so any single box can be opened and verified alone
The totals row — boxes in the consignment and pieces overall, the two numbers the receiver checks first
Packed by and checked by — two names, because the packer verifying his own work is one name short of a control
Date — on the list, not only on the challan it travels with
A packing list that only totals the consignment answers nothing at the door; one that knows each box answers everything.
Packing list format in Excel
The Excel version tallies per box and across the consignment, and catches the classic error — contents that do not sum to the order — before the truck does.
Packing list format in Word
The Word version prints as the sheet that travels in the box and the copy that stays on the file.

Where the format runs out
A packing list proves what was packed.
It cannot make the packing verifiable later — which box was opened, what the site claims against what left, the photograph at packing that settles the damage argument.
Packing as a record, box numbers tied to the order end to end, is the other way:
