The plain-language summary

Your business data is yours. It lives on servers in India, is processed only to run the service you pay for, is retained by the rules below, and a named person answers for it. The formal version follows.

Who does what with data

For the business data stored in SaleShade, your business is the Data Fiduciary and SaleShade acts as a Data Processor on your instructions — the customers, enquiries, orders and records you keep in the platform are processed solely to provide and support the service. This policy operates under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

What we collect

What you give us directly:

  • Demo and enquiry requests — when you submit a form on our website, we collect your name and phone number, and optionally your email address, business name, city, and any message you send
  • Account information — if you register, the details needed to create and manage your account — name, business name, contact details, and login credentials
  • Communications — when you contact us by WhatsApp, email or phone, we keep a record of that correspondence
  • Billing details — billing name, GSTIN, and payment information handled through our payment provider

What we collect automatically:

  • Technical and usage information — IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and dates and times of access, using cookies and similar technologies
  • Analytics — Google Analytics is the tool used

And the business data you put into the Service — product and SKU records, price lists, catalogues, customer records, showroom visitor details, leads, estimates and product images. That may include personal data about your own customers. For it, your business is the Data Fiduciary and SaleShade is the Data Processor, handling it on your instructions and for no purpose of ours.

Where data lives

SaleShade is hosted with Hostinger (Hostinger International Limited) on servers located in Mumbai, India. Personal data is stored and processed in India.

How long data is kept

Active accounts: for the life of the account plus six months. Closed accounts: six months. Export before deletion is covered in the terms of service and on the delete-account page.

Third parties we use

The service relies on named sub-processors, each for a stated purpose: SMS — Kiri Infotech, Indore, India · WhatsApp API — Meta Platforms, Inc., USA · Email — Gmail, operated by Google LLC · Push notifications — Google Firebase · App distribution — Apple App Store and Google Play Store · Analytics — Google Analytics · Security — SSL certification.

Your rights and how to exercise them

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access — the personal data we hold about you, and how we process it
  • Correction — of data that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • Erasure — of your personal data
  • Withdrawal of consent — where we rely on it — withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out
  • Nomination — of another individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity
  • Grievance — about how we handle your data

To exercise any of these, write to hello@saleshade.in. We will respond within the timeframes required by law, after verifying your identity — the verification exists so that this policy cannot be used against you by somebody else.
