What is stuck, flagged, or sitting too long

Not a funnel — an exception board. What is stuck, flagged, or sitting too long, in tiles that read one way, with the worst offenders always visible.

The question at the back is different from the question at the front

The sales side asks how much is coming in — enquiries, estimates, conversions.

A funnel celebrates flow. The back of the business needs the opposite instrument: a board that stays quiet about everything normal and points hard at everything stuck.

The front of the business
  • Asks how much is coming in — and reads a shape that widens at the top
  • Wants a funnel — an instrument that celebrates flow
The back of the business
  • Asks what is not moving — the order at checking for a week, the receipt nobody reviewed
  • Wants the opposite instrument — quiet about everything normal, loud about everything stuck

That is what this dashboard is — an exception board, not a scoreboard.

Setting the view to "today" does not make a seventy-day-old order disappear.
Illustrative figures. Every tile reads the same three lines: logged, pending, complete.

The middle line is the one that matters, because pending is where money sits still.

A range selector — today, week, month, all, custom — frames the routine numbers.

The worst offenders ignore the date filter, on purpose

Three panels are live and deliberately exempt from the range selector: Top Pending Orders, Active Flags, and Inward Receive Orders. An order pending for weeks must not vanish because the view is set to "today" — the longer something is stuck, the more visible it stays.

Top pending orders

Not a report — a to-do list ordered by embarrassment. The order at the top waited longest for somebody, and now it waits in front of everybody.

Active flags

Every discrepancy still open, wherever it was raised, however long ago it was raised.

Inward receive orders

What you are owed by suppliers, still standing open against a purchase.

Sections that follow the shape of the work

Sales and fulfilment

Order status, top customers, active flags.

Inventory operations

Receipts, replacements, audit status.

Support

Service requests, open and closed.

Team

Roles, schemes, beat plans, leaves.

Each panel answers its own small version of the same question: is anything here waiting on a person?

Exports go out in Excel and PDF when a number needs to travel.

The dashboard reads the stamps

Every figure on the board is the sum of recorded acts — the allotments, checks, packs and visits that stamped themselves as they happened.

Nobody wrote this. Each line is the act of doing the work.
Illustrative view. Times are to the minute, and no line can be edited after the fact.

No one compiles this report; it is what the records look like from above.

Open it in the morning, and know where to walk

The funnel tells you how the month is going.

The exception board tells you what to do before lunch — which order to push, which receipt to review, which flag to clear.

It is the difference between information and instruction.

Open the board on your own backlog and see what rises to the top.
